HE raced some handy pacers from the 1960s through to the 1980s.

And Keith Ritchie made many friends along his journey in harness racing.

Keith passed away last week – but not before receiving a card from the King to celebrate turning 100 years of age.

Keith was a former prominent trainer and driver within the Western Districts and was based out at Grenfell.

He raced more than a few handy horses,  two that come to mind were Boney Walla and Boneys Brother.

Yet he always seemed to have a smart one in his stable throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Keith Ritchie’s funeral will be a graveside service at the Grenfell Cemetery on the Young Road/Henry Lawson Way tomorrow [Wednesday, November 8 at 11.00am].

The family are requesting harness racing participants wear their racing silks.
