Busy night for leading horsewoman
LEADING horsewoman KerryAnn Morris is in for a busy Saturday night.
Along with having a large team entered at her ‘home track’, Morris has numerous runners engaged at Albion Park.
Morris will harness 13 members of her stable at Club Menangle, with six racing north of the border.
“We’ve got a few in and hopefully can have a bit of luck,” Morris said. “I’m home at the stable, while Josh Gallagher is looking after the horses in Queensland for us.
“As you’d expect they’ve got a mixture of draws at both tracks and have their chances with the right runs.”
Drawn to receive a favourable passage from the pole, Dark Energy is rated as Morris’ best Sunshine State hope.
The son of Bettors Delight finished second from the same draw last weekend.
“He will be a strong chance again from the draw,” Morris said. “If he can get the right trip he should finish strongly as he did last week.
“He was two-back the pegs on that occasion and with any luck he can be at least behind the leader this time.”
Despite a disappointing last start and tough draw earlier on the card, Bettor To Be Tricky is considered a strong chance of returning to the winners’ circle.
Finishing at the tail of the field last weekend, the gelding won his three previous outings.
“He didn’t go as well as expected last Saturday night, but has shown no ill-effects from the run and has worked well this week,” Morris said.
“The draw isn’t the best but if he races to his best he can still play a role in the finish.”
