Case of déjà vu all over again
IT SHOULD be nothing more than a case of déjà vu with Cash N Flow at Club Menangle on Saturday night.
Just as he has since scoring at the world class venue on March 14, Cash N Flow is poised to dominate the open class event – this week known as the Celebrating Harold Park Cup.
Returning from a short break a fortnight ago, the Craig Cross-trained speedster stretched his winning sequence around the 1400-metre circuit to 13 by stopping the clock in 1:51.5.
And just as he has since his streak began, Cash N Flow has drawn the outside of the front row over the flying mile.
To be driven by star reinsman Luke McCarthy once again, the son of Mach Three is also expected to work to the lead soon after the start as per his usual racing pattern.
“He was in need of a run a couple of weeks ago and will be a lot better on Saturday night,” Cross said.
“His work has been terrific and he has tightened right up since then.
“We know where he is going to draw each time he is nominated but it hasn’t made a difference so far.
“I can’t see any reason why that would change this time around.”
Following his Group Three assignment Cash N Flow will be set for the free-for-all at Menangle on January 2.
The $1million Miracle Mile on March 6 remains Cash N Flow’s long term target.
“He’ll continue to race in the open class races here as we work him towards the Miracle Mile,” Cross said.
