HE’S yet to decide which venue he will attend, but nonetheless, Jarrod Alchin is hoping for a big night on Saturday.

Along with runners in a pair of Group Ones at Club Menangle, Alchin has two starters in a Group Two at Albion Park.

Closer to home Havahh Nice Day and Madrid will contest New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge True Blue Finals, while Regal Attire and Doff Your Cap are engaged in the Trotters’ Sprint.

“It has the potential to be a big night,” Alchin said. “With a bit of luck that’s how it will turn out.

“I haven’t sorted out the logistics yet so I’m not sure if I will stay home or go to Queensland.”

Luckless in her Challenge title defence a fortnight ago, Madrid is expected to gain “some consolation” this time around.

Although drawn awkwardly in barrier six, the three-year-old is a short-priced favourite over a mile.

“I wasn’t disappointed with her run last start,” Alchin said. “She got caught outside the leader which isn’t her go and she was only beaten nine metres.

“I’m not worried about the draw as with her speed she should find the front.

“Havahh Nice Day needed to draw better than the outside of the front row in her Final to be a serious chance, but with a bit of luck she will surprise a few.”

Drawn barrier five, Regal Attire is also expected to be sent forward at the start, while Doff Your Cap will be “driven for luck” from the back row.

“I expect both of them to be right in the finish,” Alchin said. “Regal Attire comes into four with the emergency out and will go forward.

“Doff Your Cap hasn’t drawn as well so he’ll be driven for luck from there.”
