CLASSY mare Tay Tay will take a step towards another Group One appearance when she returns to Club Menangle tomorrow night.
Back in the care of Inter Dominion winning horseman Jason Grimson, Tay Tay is engaged in the Robin Dundee Stake.
Along with the lion’s share of the $50,000 purse, the winner is destined to earn a berth in the Queen Elizabeth II Mile, which is scheduled to be conducted at Australia’s premier harness racing venue next week.
Trained in Victoria by Alex Ashwood, Tay Tay had a six-start stint with Grimson last September/October which saw her register four wins and two placings.
Tay Tay’s wins during that period include the New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge Four-Year-Old Final.
“She’s a very nice mare and it’s good to have her back,” Grimson said. “She has settled in well and her work has been as expected.”
With Cameron Hart to take the reins, Tay Tay has drawn to lead throughout from barrier two.
TAB Fixed Odds have the daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven at the head of affairs at $2.10, with Tough Tilly considered the main danger at $2.30 from the outside of the front row.
“I’m happy with her draw and expect her to be very hard to beat,” Grimson said. “She went 1:50.6 and won by 10 metres when she was here last and is capable of going faster if needed.”
