Classy speedster primed for racing return
JUST days after his record was equalled, classy speedster Cash N Flow will make his racing return at Club Menangle.
Renowned for his prowess over a mile, Cash N Flow established the fastest quarter at the world class venue when he covered the final 400 metres in 25.3 seconds on July 4, 2020.
That performance was in the middle of Cash N Flow’s 12-run winning streak.
Earlier this week boom two-year-old Petracca came home in 25.3 seconds to capture a Nutrien Race Series heat.
One difference is Petracca’s was at the end of 2300 metres, while Cash N Flow set his time over 1609 metres.
Sent for a spell after scoring at Menangle on May 7, Cash N Flow has drawn barrier 10 in the Paul Fitzpatrick Free-For-All.
Despite being first-up from a break and drawing wide, the son of Mach Three is a $2.20 favourite with TAB Fixed Odds.
A last-start winner against similar company, Bundoran is considered the biggest danger at $3 from gate seven.
“It’s not an easy task for him first-up, but there are no easy tasks at that level,” trainer Belinda McCarthy said.
“He won his trial quite comfortably in 1:52.7 last week and the run really sharpened him up.
“His work since has been pretty good and he is forward enough to win on the weekend providing he isn’t forced to do too much work.”
