Chance to extract family revenge
BAD luck appears to be the only scenario standing in Our Little Jet’s way from extracting a form of revenge on behalf of her family this weekend.
Successful in a heat in Kilmore last week, Our Little Jet earned a berth in Saturday night’s Australian Pacing Gold Sovereign Final at Tabcorp Park Melton.
From grand producer Kabbalah Karen B, the three-year-old is a half-sister to multiple Group One winners Our Little General and Ladies In Red.
Among the best of their crop, Our Little General and Ladies In Red dominated their APG qualifiers but fell short in the Finals.
In fact, it was only last May when Ladies In Red finished second behind her stablemate, Tough Tilly, in the Club Menangle-based APG decider.
Making his APG appearance in 2016, Our Little General finished sixth behind his stablemate, The Storm Inside.
Like her siblings, Our Little Jet is prepared by premier horsewoman Emma Stewart, with the daughter of Bettors Delight drawn to find the front from barrier three.
“She has come through the heat in great shape and is ready to go in the Final,” Stewart said. “The heat was her third run from a spell and really topped her off.
“Her work this week has been as good as it gets and we’re happy with where she is at leading into this.
“She’s drawn handy enough and will take some beating.”
Stewart will also be represented by Larvotto Beach, which is the widest drawn of the six runners.
Larvotto Beach was a handy fourth behind Our Little Jet in the heat.”
“Larvotto Beach’s draw isn’t the best, but it’s not a big issue either given the small field,” Stewart said.
“She’ll need the right run, but is capable of winning if she gets it.”
