Clean sweep equals series record
PREMIER horsewoman Emma Stewart rounded out another clean sweep of the Vicbred Super Series Finals in Melton last night.
Turning the futurity into her pet project during the past decade, Stewart completed the first part of the equation by capturing the four pacing Finals at the same venue last weekend.
It is the fourth time Stewart has secured all two and three-year-old Finals, a feat she achieved in 2012, ’18 and ’24.
It’s also the seventh occasion Stewart has won both two-year-old deciders and her fifth in the three-year-old division.
Overall, Stewart has won 19 of the 30 two-year-old Finals since 2012 and 17 of the three-year-old.
Stewart’s latest haul was led by two-year-olds Some High and Kahula, while Enjoy Life and Bettor Beach were the standout three-year-olds.
Stage two of the clean sweep were the four-year-old deciders, with Stewart winning both thanks to The Art Of Success and Fox Dan.
Stewart’s squad was also too good in the five four-year-old qualifiers in Kilmore on August 10.
It is the second time Stewart has won all six Finals – a record-breaking achievement she reached in 2024.
In the four-year-old division, Stewart has won both Finals in 2016, ’19, ’21, ’24 and ’25, with an overall total of 12.
“The Vicbred is a series we place a lot of emphasis on, which is only natural given our team consists mainly of horses bred in this state,” Stewart said. “We’ve been fortunate to have had a lot of success throughout the years.
“Last night was another terrific night for the team, and more importantly our owners.”
