LEADING reinsman Nathan Jack faces an enviable but tough decision following yesterday’s Vicbred Super Series heats in Maryborough.

Dominating the card, Jack won five heats to register his second quintet.

Jack’s first ‘bag of five’ was in Echuca on December 9, 2014.

Kick-starting the meeting with a win behind Preferred Love, Jack completed an early double when Violet Stanford proved too slick.

Although the victors will clash in the $100,000 Final on September 16, Jack has to stick with Violet Stanford given he trains the daughter of Volstead.

Rating 2:01.8 over 2190 metres – 1.9 seconds quicker than Preferred Love – Violet Stanford maintained her perfect record from four starts.

“I thought it was a good strong run,” Jack said. “She had to do a bit of work to find the front and then hit the line well.

“She won’t do much between now and the Final, just keep ticking along at home.”

Jack was then triumphant with The Locomotive and Gotfeelingsyouknow, which is where the dilemma comes into play as the pair will battle each other in the Final.

“I’ll have to wait for the barrier draw,” Jack said. “I don’t think there is much between them.

“The Locomotive is back to his best, but the other horse is extremely fast…it’ll be a tough decision that’s for sure.”

Jack rounded out his day with Shesawish in a three-year-old fillies’ qualifier.

Trained by Neville Pangrazio, Shesawish accounted for Glamour Stride and Sequence in 2:00.7 over 2190 metres.

“She’s a good filly, but whether she is up to Rockinwithattitude and Susan Is Her Name remains to be seen,” Jack said. “If those two do show any chinks in their armour on the night though, Shesawish will certain taker advantage of it.”
