EXCITING filly Miss Idaho is expected to have no trouble continuing her winning ways at Globe Derby tomorrow night.
Winner of her last three starts, which followed a debut second, Miss Idaho is engaged in the Ladyship Stake.
Miss Idaho’s victories include the Golden Nursery against the ‘boys’ a fortnight ago.
Set to face just four rivals in the feature, the Ryan Hryhorec-trained daughter of Ultimate Machete is a prohibitive $1.10 favourite from barrier four.
“On paper she does look too good for those, but she still has to get out there and get the job done,” Hryhorec said. “She has been working as well as ever, if anything, she has improved during the past couple of weeks.
“She’s certainly going to be hard to beat.”
In what promises to be a highly-successful card for Hryhorec, he also has Aldebaran Stiles in the South Australia Trotters’ Derby.
Despite drawing the middle of the second row, the gelding heads the market at $1.90.
“It’s not an ideal draw, but he will take some beating,” Hryhorec said.
Hryhorec’s favourites also include wayward, but talented three-year-old Jamaican Rock, which will contest the Sires’ Produce.
Triumphant in Port Pirie when first-up from a spell a fortnight ago, Jamaican Rock is a $1.80 shot from gate six.
“He is feeling great and is getting better, though he is still full of himself,” Hryhorec said. “If he puts it all together, it is hard seeing him being beaten.”
