ANYONE who has worked with horses is well aware of how testing they can be…especially one with “an attitude”.

Whether it’s catching the elusive pest in a yard, its refusal to stand still to be geared-up or just plain loco, the frustration is oh too real.

Then there is the switch from “problem child” to “golden child” after a win is registered as all is forgiven.

According to Kaycee Carey, the above is an exact description of her relationship with Feisty Jane.

Living up to her name, Feisty Jane is a bona fide pain!

The fact the daughter of Pet Rock has won her last three starts, however, allows her to get away with the annoyances.

“She is a problem child,” Carey said. “She’s got a few issues and is a typical mare with an attitude problem.

“She lives up to her name that’s for sure, but when they’re winning you tend to forgive them and let them off pretty quickly.”

After another week of pushing Carey’s patience, Feisty Jane will search for redemption yet again when she heads to Globe Derby tonight.

Drawn barrier four over 1800 metres, the four-year-old is the $3.80 second elect, with Justcallmeangus heading the market at $2.90 from gate three.

“She is in a purple patch at the moment and hopefully that can continue for a little longer,” Carey said. “She hasn’t drawn too badly as she should be able to be settled into a handy position early from there.

“It’s a pretty even field with a few chances…it’s one of those races you can run half a dozen times and get a different winner as there is no real stand out.”
