IT’S not a brag, so don’t put her down, but yesterday Leilani Justice had one of the fastest pacers in town!

In what was her maiden training success, Justice was triumphant with Deuce Coupe, which blew ’em outta the water’ in Maryborough.

Poised to carry the Justice name into the next decade, Leilani is the daughter of Living Legend, Lance, and successful horsewoman Dianne Giles.

Last month Justice notched her initial driving success behind Chinski, which is trained by Giles.

“I was so excited to get my first win as a trainer,” Justice said. “To drive him as well added to the joy.

“I was confident with him as he has been working  well, but he did get a little revved up on the day.”

Eased away from barrier five ‘when the light turned green’, Deuce Coupe was settled four-back in the running line as Our Miki Diva led from gate two.

Angled three-wide entering the back straight, the son of Art Major sustained a strong sprint to score by six-and-a-half metres from Luella.

Our Miki Diva battled on to be two metres away third in 2:00.6 over 2190 metres.

“I was a little worried when I had to go with him earlier than I wanted, but he proved he was up to it,” Justice said. “He is starting to put it together now and hopefully can continue to improve.

“I’ve got nothing specific picked out for him so I will just keep racing him through the grades.
