New ‘power couple’ in the making

LEADING drivers Wayne Hill and Samantha Pascoe are poised to officially become the industry’s latest power couple.

Dating for quite a while, the duo took two leaps in life during the weekend, including Hill ‘popping the question’!

Along with receiving a favourable response, Hill and Pascoe purchased a property, which they are set to occupy as of next month.

“It’s been a busy few days,” Hill said. “A big weekend for Sam and I.”

With outgoings on the rise, Hill and Pascoe will be looking to replenish the bottom line when they head to Globe Derby tonight.

Pascoe has six drives on the card, with Atout shaping as her best prospect in the fifth event.

One of four runners prominent horseman Luke O’Neill has in the field, Atout is the $6 second elect from barrier four.

Aldebaran Gwen heads the market at $1.80 from gate two.

Hill, who will contest seven races, will partner Atout’s stablemate, Horse Of Course, from barrier seven.

Hill’s best prospect for the evening rests with Roll With Eunice in the opening event.

Roll With Eunice is unbeaten from six Australian starts, with Hill taking the riens behind the Aaron Bain-trained son of Roll With Joe on five occasions.

Despite being first-up since April 18 and drawing the outside of the front row, Roll With Eunice is a $1.80 hot shot.

“I’ve got a few good drives tonight,” Hill said. “Some are probably shorter than they should be but Roll With Eunice is around the right price.

“He’d be my best for the night.”
