Pair of winning streaks extended

BOOM filly Soho Historia continued her charge towards more Group One glory with a soft win at Tabcorp Park Melton last night.

A revelation since joining Emma Stewart’s stable, Soho Historia is unbeaten from seven starts for the premier horsewoman, with the filly’s victories including the Queensland Oaks.

With her local Blue Riband scheduled to be held on October 8, Soho Historia will be kept fresh ahead of the heats the week before the $150,000 Final.

“That was the perfect run for her at this point of her preparation,” Stewart said. “It will keep her ticking along nicely before the Oaks heats in a couple of weeks.

“She hasn’t set a hoof wrong since she got here and with any luck that will continue to be the case in the Oaks.”

With Mark Pitt holding the reins Soho Historia led from barrier six before cruising to a soft four-and-a-half metre win from her stablemate, Beach Life.

Gipsy Princess was three metres away third.

Rating 2:00 over 2240 metres, the three-year-old provided Stewart and Pitt with the second leg of a double after the pair combined to score with Treachery earlier on the card.

Extending her perfect season to seven, Treachery led throughout the Group Three as Dougs Babe and Art Of Sheng Li filled the placings.

“She has always been a handy filly, but has taken it to another level this season,” Stewart said.
