HOPES of a softer run in this year’s Final have been all but dashed for star filly, Rockinwithattitude.

Responsible for a massive performance in defeat during last season’s Breeders’ Crown decider, Rockinwithattitude is back in search of redemption.

Partnered by concession reinsman Jayden Barker, the filly led from barrier two but was given no peace as New Zealand raider, Aroha Kenny, was driven aggressively on her outside, with the pair racing 30 metres clear of the field in a “ridiculous” lead time.

Battling on bravely along the home straight, Rockinwithattitude finished second behind Susan Is Her Name.

To connection’s dismay, Rockinwithattitude is likely to work overtime again as a result of the barrier draw.

With trainer David Miles to take the reins, the daughter of Aldebaran Eagle will begin from gate four.

“It will be an interesting first 600 metres as there is speed inside us,” Miles said.

Miles believes handy youngster Shesawish holds the key from the pole for respected horseman Neville Pangrazio.

“I’d say the pole has enough speed to hold us out, so we may end up working outside it,” Miles said. “She has been really good all season and was good in her heat in Maryborough and will definitely be the hardest to beat.

“All I can say is Maryborough was the best my filly has felt in ages and I’m really looking forward to this week.”

To be sent for a spell after the $75,000 major, Rockinwithattitude will head for a paddock via the breeding barn.

“She will be served by Volstead and have an embryo transfer,” Miles said. “Overall I will give her eight weeks in the paddock and then bring her up slowly next season.”
