State bodies give APG Series tick of approval
AUSTRALIAN Pacing Gold has received approval from regulators in Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria for its ‘terms and conditions’ relating to the APG Series 32 for yearlings sold in 2021.
APG Yearling Sales will be held in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne early next year and graduates can elect to participate in the state-based futurity two and three-year-old race series in those same cities or in the city of the owner’s choice subject to conditions.
“We Bring the Sales and the Races to you” – that is the philosophy of APG which considers itself a truly national yearling sales company.
“Providing a service to four Australian states has its financial and logistical challenges,” said APG Deputy Chairman, Peter Watkinson.
“As harness racing is a national industry and with APG being industry owned, it is vital that APG continues to support these four key jurisdictions.
“APG will again be providing an affordable avenue for breeders and vendors to sell their Australian yearlings in a state of their choice and providing buyers with the potential to purchase a quality yearling.”
Highlights of APG Series 32 will be eight Group One Finals in New South Wales and Victoria with a total $1million in prizemoney, as well as the WA Sales Classic and Group One Brisbane Sales Race.
Big news of the week is APG’s partnership with the Victorian Harness Racing Club and the NSW Owners’ Association to provide more half a million dollars in vouchers to be redeemed at the 2021 APG and APTS sales.
“The APG-APTS partnership with VHRC is a perfect fit,” Watkinson said. “I am confident this initiative will continue the strong growth of the VHRC’s membership base, whilst providing APG-APTS with outstanding brand exposure and marketing opportunities.
“It’s an exciting prospect to think we might have over 300 new buyers at our 2021 sales, keen to spend their vouchers.
“This partnership will provide a much needed stimulus for the industry which is being badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its resultant impact on prizemoney and morale.”
APG will shortly be making available its Sales Information Pack for 2021 with sale Nominations to close on 30 June 2020.
