Successful debut for new stable

HAVING made a successful debut yesterday, Sofia Arvidsson hopes to maintain her perfect record this afternoon.

Recently ‘spreading her wings’ into New South Wales, the former Victorian-based Arvidsson commenced work with the Blake Fitzpatrick stable just 24 hours ago.

To her new employer’s delight, Arvidsson was triumphant during her first outing by guiding Dance Secret to victory in Goulburn.

Overcoming a second row draw, Dance Secret rated 1:58.8 over 1710 metres as Fox Trot Hill and Aorangi filled the placings.

Thrilled with the win, Arvidsson will chase a ‘running double’ when she partners the Fitzpatrick-trained Wow Hes A Rock Star in the final event on the card.

“Yesterday was my first day working for Blake and to win at my first drive is amazing,” Arvidsson said.

“He was the favourite, so I was confident, but I never get too confident especially with trotters.

“I’m driving in the last at Menangle today, so with a bit of luck I can make it two from two.”

Absent from the winners’ circle since July, Wow Hes A Rock Star showed a glimpse of his best when third at the world class venue last week.

Drawn to go forward from barrier five, the son of Rock N Roll Heaven is a $4.20 second favourite with TAB Fixed Odds.

Loui heads the market at $3.20 from gate eight.

“Blake said he has been working well and appears to be well placed in this race,” Arvidsson said.

“If he goes as well as his last start he should be right in the finish.”
