Taleah’s terrific Team Teal triumph

IT HASN’T taken ‘Team Teal’ long to “hit the board”.

In fact, it only took two races for a member of the squad to register the first victory of this season’s teal pants campaign.

Causing an upset, Taleah McMullen was triumphant at Albion Park with Gunna Needamargarita which rated 1:54 over 1660 metre to complete her second win from her last three starts.

Thanks to McMullen’s win $400 was donated towards WomenCan, along with raising crucial awareness for ovarian cancer research and education.

“It was wonderful to hit the board so quickly and to already get some money for Team Teal,” McMullen said.

“This is my fourth year as part of the team and I thoroughly enjoy being part of such an important event each year.

“It gets to the point you look forward to teal pants time as you know you’re part of something big and wear the pants with pride.

“Hopefully I can help add a few more wins before the campaign is over.”

Four races later another McMullen – Narissa – notched the team’s second success after training and driving Slip The Hundy to a soft win.

After finding the lead from barrier six, the gelding strode to a three-and-a-half metre win from Bettor Romance, with Jilliby Jackpot 12 metres away third in 1:54.2.

At the time of publishing this article, the McMullens were joined by Tayla French and Dani Hill, who scored during the early part of tonight’s Mildura meeting.
