Another provincial feature at his mercy

HIGH class pacer Our Millionaire is in a strong position to add another country cup to his ever-growing tally.

Successful in last weekend’s Horsham Cup, Our Millionaire’s victories include St Arnaud and Stawell’s flagship events during his past five starts.

Two outings earlier the Emma Stewart-trained stallion was runner-up in the Maryborough Cup.

“He’s always been a nice type as his record shows and we’ve been particular happy with his last eight or so starts,” Stewart said.

“From those runs he’s had four wins and two placings, both in Group events.

“He has come through his run in the Cup on the weekend in perfect condition and is ready to go again.”

This time around Our Millionaire will tackle Sunday’s Charlton Cup, where he will begin from barrier six.

Despite his awkward draw, Stewart is confident the son of Million Dollar Cam can add the Group Three to his record.

Stewart will also be represented by Demon Delight and Phoenix Prince, which have drawn gates five and nine.

“The draw could be a little tricky for Our Millionaire, but he is going well enough to overcome it,” Stewart said.

“As long as he can get a good go at them he will be right in the finish.

“The other two are also capable of winning with the right runs, so it will just come down to how it works out on the day.”
