Art will need to create Mile history just to win!

EXCITING pacer Lochinvar Art will need to create history at Club Menangle if he is to become Miracle Mile champion.

Earning a berth in Saturday night’s $1million Ainsworth-sponsored feature thanks to his victory in the Chariots Of Fire a fortnight ago, Lochinvar Art has drawn barrier nine in the Grand Circuit event.

With the removal of the emergencies the David Moran-trained son of Modern Art slots into gate seven.

No runner has captured Australasia’s ultimate speed test from wider than barrier six.

Although drawn seven last season, Spankem moved into six with the emergencies out when he led throughout in 1:47.7.

Despite his seemingly impossible mission Lochinvar Art is the $4.50 second favourite with TAB Fixed Odds.

King Of Swing heads the market at $2.80 from barrier four.

“It can’t be that hard…we’ll just have to get out there and do it,” Moran joked.

“Records were made to be broken, or in this case set, and hopefully we can be the ones to do it.

“It’s not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s not an impossible one either.

“We’ll have to wait and see how it all unfolds and hope for luck.”

Starting positions aside, Moran is thrilled to report Lochinvar Art “is in perfect condition.”

“He is feeling a treat,” Moran declared. “He is in perfect condition.

“I gave him a bit of pace work this morning and he will have a good hit out Wednesday to keep him right where he is.

“I couldn’t be happier with his preparation or condition going into this.”
