PROMISING young trotters London To A Brick and Watts Up Partytime are poised to fight out the finish of tonight’s Foundation Final at Club Menangle.

The duo filled the quinella in a series heat a fortnight ago, with London To A Brick emerging triumphant by a half-neck in a slick 1:55 over a mile.

Despite being the widest drawn of six starters, the James Rattray-trained squaregaiter is listed as a $2 favourite in the decider.

A pacing-bred son of Bettors Delight, London To A Brick boasts four wins and a second from his last six outings, with three of those victories in Foundation heats.

Expected to strip fitter this weekend, Watts Up Partytime is at $2.50 from barrier two.

Prepared by Rickie Alchin, Watts Up Partytime made his debut as a late three-year-old last season, with his performances including a narrow second in the Group One Vicbred Final in Melton on New Year’s Eve.

With Alchin campaigning a team in Queensland, Cameron Hart will take the reins behind the son of Majestic Son.

Alchin will also be represented by Tougher, which is capable of causing an upset from barrier three.

Third during her last two starts, Tougher is among the outsiders at $21.

A heat winner on April 24, Moonwalka is the only other runner under double figures at $7 from gate five.

“Both of mine are going well and should be right in it,” Alchin said. “Majestic has drawn to search for the lead, which if he finds it, will make him very hard to run down.

“He was only beaten in the last stride in the heat and is fitter this time.

“Tougher will find it, well tougher, but she’s not out of it either.

“I’ll certainly be watching and cheering them home from Queensland.”
