Carbine Chemicals presents “Faces at the races”

ENJOYING a solid season with his boutique stable Paul Tonkin registered a personal milestone earlier this week.

Training standardbreds “on and off for a long time”, Tonkin captured the Warragul Pacing Cup on Monday with in-form gelding Longtan Viper.

Also triumphant in a heat earlier on the card, Longtan Viper provided Tonkin with his first cup success.

“I’ve had a licence since I was a kid, but have drifted in and out over the years,” Tonkin explained. “I have trained a cup winner behind the scenes, but this is my first official cup win on my own.

“It’s defintiely one of my better wins, but hopefully my best is yet to come.”
