Cranbourne meeting transferred as precaution

AS THEY have all through the pandemic, Harness Racing Victoria has once again been on the front foot to ensure the industry continues to function.

After receiving news of a positive Coronavirus case in Cranbourne the governing body has swiftly transferred tomorrow’s meeting out of the shire.

The precautionary measure was taken after a thoroughbred racing staff member at the Cranbourne Training Centre tested positive to COVID-19.

As such the scheduled Cranbourne meeting has been moved to Tabcorp Park Melton.

“Through communication today with Racing Victoria and Cranbourne Turf Club and our own inquiries we are comfortable that no harness racing participants are at any additional risk,” HRV CEO Dayle Brown said.

“No harness racing participant has been deemed a close contact and no harness racing participant has been required to undertake a COVID-19 test.

“We have transferred tomorrow’s meeting purely as a precautionary measure, and HRV will continue to monitor the situation and advise of any updates.”
