Dropping the ‘working’ part from working holiday
ENJOYING his time interstate so much, New South Wales horseman John Boserio is contemplating dropping the working part from his working holiday.
Campaigning a small team in Queensland, Boserio was planning to return home after Happy Publicans competes at Albion Park on Tuesday.
Given the warm weather and good times he’s experienced in between working horses Boserio is weighing up the option of remaining in the Sunshine State for another week.
“I don’t think I am ready to go home,” Boserio said. “I’m having too good a time up here to head back just yet.
“Plus the weather is great here and it’s just about snowing at home.
“I haven’t made up my mind but I might stay here to holiday for another week.”
Fresh from registering his initial Group One success as a trainer last weekend, Boserio stated his extended break could depend on Saturday night’s result at Albion Park.
Boserio will contest the two-year-old event with Hes Sweet, which captured the $100,000 Albion Park Gold Final for graduates of Australian Pacing Gold’s Brisbane Sale.
To Boserio’s dismay the son of Hes Watching has drawn awkwardly in barrier six.
“I was originally going to tip Hes Sweet out after the Final, but he pulled up so well and this race looked suitable so I kept him going for another week,” Boserio said.
“Unfortunately he hasn’t drawn so well, so he is going to need luck go his way.”
