WELL-TRAVELLED youngster Ever Art kick-started her latest interstate campaign on a perfect note during the weekend.

In what is her fourth trip away from home, the New South Wales-based filly captured last Saturday night’s Redcliffe Oaks for trainer David Thorn.

Although she has only had seven starts, Ever Art is in the midst of her third Queensland venture, having also gone south to Victoria last season.

“She hasn’t had a lot of starts, but has done plenty of travelling for her racing,” Thorn said. “She is Qbred, which is one of the main reasons she’s been there several times already.

“I also took her Victoria for the Breeders’ Crown, but she wasn’t right and had an epiglottic entrapment operation while she was there.

“She is back in Queensland for a few races, with the Qbred Triad the main aim.

“In between she has the South East and Queensland Oaks, so I’ve left her with Shannon Price as it is hard to be away for so long with one horse, plus it is easier on her than going back and forth.”

With Will Rixon in the cart, Ever Art led throughout from the pole to score by a metre-and-a-half from Luvareschs, with Aardie B Miki two-and-a-half metres away third.

Rating 1:55.4 over 2280 metres, the daughter of Art Major took her tally to four wins and three seconds for a bankroll of $87,956.
