Perfect way to celebrate maiden win

WHAT better way to celebrate the anniversary of a maiden win than with another victory!

That’s what Minuscule’s connections are hoping for this weekend.

Scoring upon debut in Swan Hill on January 9, 2020, Minuscule will be in action again on January 9 – this time in Bendigo.

Forging a strong record during the interim, the Emma Stewart-trained mare boasts six wins and two placings from 11 starts.

Successful at her three outings before a break, Minuscule was triumphant in Bendigo on Christmas Eve when first-up from a six-month spell.

On that occasion the daughter of Bettors Delight led throughout from the pole.

“She did very well during her time off,” Stewart said. “The break has done her the world of good and she’s come back feeling stronger.

“I was pleased with her first-up run and her work has lifted since.

“She’ll be fitter again on Saturday night but will need to be given her draw.”

To be driven by premiership winning reinswoman Kate Gath, Minuscule has drawn barrier seven – the outside of the front row.

Outback Shadow, which broke a 16-month drought from the winners’ circle with her victory in Ararat last week, is expected to test the favourite.

Prepared by Michelle Wight and driven by her champion sister Kerryn Manning, Outback Shadow wil come from gate six.

“The draw isn’t the best, but she is good enough to overcome it,” Stewart said. “I can’t see any reason why she won’t be able to go through the grades this time in.”
