STABLEMATES My Ultimate Sunny and Karakajack Tooth have booked an interstate campaign.

Heading into last night’s HRNSW Foundation Final at Club Menangle, trainer Jarrod Alchin revealed he was contemplating taking the three-year-olds to Queensland provided they impressed during the weekend.

Alchin had his sights set on several features, including the rich Qbred Series for My Ultimate Sunny and the Trotters’ Oaks for Karakajack Tooth.

Well, the duo did more than impress, they filled the quinella in the $25,500 decider.

With Cameron Hart in the cart, My Ultimate Sunny cruised to a 10-and-a-half metre win from Karakajack Tooth.

After leading from barrier three, My Ultimate Sunny was eased to take a trail behind Maximus Meridius, which battled on to be third, beaten 12-and-a-half metres.

Making a triumphant debut in a series heat the previous week, My Ultimate Sunny rated 2:00.2 over 2300 metres.

“I am looking at taking them to Queensland for the winter and last night was a step they had to take before any plans are set in stone,” Alchin said. “Going on those runs, they’ll be heading north.

“That was Sunny’s first time over 2300 metres and he ran it out strongly, which was good to see.”
