JUST like her highly-touted stablemate, Amore Vita is heading interstate.

Widely-regarded as the nation’s most exciting pacer, Captain Ravishing earned a trip to New South Wales with his victory at Tabcorp Park Melton tonight.

In what was an arrogant performance, the Australian Pacing Gold purchase captured The Bonanza, which came with a berth in the Chariots Of Fire at Club Menangle in a fortnight on top of the prizemoney.

Driven by Mark Pitt, Captain Ravishing occupied the ‘death seat’ to score by 22 metres in 1:50.9 over 1720 metres when first-up from an 11-week spell.

While her winning margin in the Alabar Ladyship Cup wasn’t as large, Amore Vita also outstayed her rivals to provide trainer Emma Stewart with her second $100,000 triumph for the evening.

As such, Amore Vita will head north for the Queen Elizabeth II Mile at Menangle on February 25.

“She is a wonderful mare as she showed again tonight with that run,” Stewart said. “That was her first start in five weeks, she’s done all the work and proved too strong for them.

“Tay Tay got at least a metre in front of her halfway up the home straight, but she dug deep and retook the lead.

“She will be going to Sydney now to get ready for the Queen Elizabeth in a few weeks.”

With Chris Alford holding the reins, Amore Vita was immediately angled away from the pegs from her inside of the second row draw before being sent forward to test the pacemaker, Dougs Babe, from the breeze.

Showing a tremendous amount of intestinal fortitude, the daughter of Art Major completed a half-head win from Tay Tay.

Sew What was three metres away third as a despised $151 rank outsider.

Rating 1:53.4 for the 1720-metre trip, Amore Vita stretched her record to 14 wins and nine placings from 28 starts for earnings of $432,553.
