Wagering suggests Oaks upset

SHE boasts an enviable record and is widely considered to have the potential of being one of the greatest fillies produced on this side of the equator.

With a tally of 12 wins and a second from 13 starts, the youngster in question is undefeated from three outings this season.

That trio of wins includes a Victorian Oaks heat last week, earning her $1.80 favouritism in Saturday night’s Final.

Yet with all her credentials some punters are expected Ladies In Red to be beaten in the Blue Riband.

TAB Fixed Odds has noted consistent support coming Ladies In Red’s Emma Stewart-trained stablemate, Beach Music.

Successful at her last three starts, Beach Music won her heat by 10 metres in 1:58.1 over 2650 metres.

Although driver David Moran electing to stick with Ladies In Red would usually be a sign of which has the better chance, the money is coming for Beach Music.

“Multiple” $500 wagers on the three-year-old have her tightening to $2.60, with Beach Music expected to threaten for favouritism by race night.

Joanna – also trained by Stewart – is the only other runner under double figures at $5.50.

Unlike Ladies In Red, other feature favourites continue to tighten.

Opening at $1.65, Majestuoso has come into $1.35 in Bill Collins Sprint markets.

Pink Galahs is rated as his main threat at $4.50 and is the only rival under $10.

In the evening’s flagship event – Victoria Cup – New South Wales raider King Of Swing has firmed despite his outside of the back row draw.

Runner-up in last season’s edition, King Of Swing has moved from $2.80 to $2.40 favouritism in his bid to ‘go one better’ in 2021.
