KING OF SWING
Better than bank interest!
July 21, 2021 Paul Courts

“It’s better than bank interest!”
HAVING a non racing friend asking for a ‘hot tip’ is pretty much something everyone in the industry has experienced.
The expectation is you can supply a double-figure winner seemingly at will!
Yet when the tip you provide is a favourite, the friend isn’t necessarily impressed, despite the fact a winning favourite is still “better than bank interest!”
It appears some big punters are well aware of the adage, having placed some sizeable wagers on King Of Swing ahead of Saturday night’s Blacks A Fake at Albion Park.
In fact, according to TAB’s Andrew Georgiou, the dual Miracle Mile champion continues to attract attention despite his short odds.
Drawn to lead throughout from the pole, King Of Swing has tightened into $1.25 with TAB Fixed Odds.
“Nothing else has been seriously tried to beat King Of Swing,” Georgiou said.
“Our customers have been more than happy to take the shorts about him, which has seen him come in from $1.40 to $1.25.”
One punter has opted for a bigger payday in the Derby, betting against star youngster, Krug.
Although drawn the middle of the back row, Krug is a $1.70 favourite for trainer Cran Dalgety.
Considered the main danger from barrier two, American Dealer has been backed into $4.20 second elect.
“Krug is the clear favourite but the money hasn’t been all one-way traffic,” Georgiou said.
“American Dealer has been popular at his current quote and is responsible for slightly more of the hold than the favourite.”
