Industry to come to a halt during lockdown
Dear Participants,
We advise, that at this point, no approvals have been obtained for racing to continue throughout the lockdown period.
However, given the situation confronting us is fluid, and constantly evolving, we may still obtain the requisite approvals to allow the meetings scheduled for Saturday and Monday at Globe Derby, together with the combined meeting scheduled for Tuesday to proceed.
In the interim we have determined to proceed with processing Saturday’s meeting but delaying acceptances until Thursday morning, at which time the way forward may be somewhat clearer.
We will also continue on with the Monday and Tuesday meetings in anticipation of a favourable outcome.
In the interim Harness Racing SA will continue to strongly lobby and press our case for racing to continue uninterrupted and without consequence to the industry at large.
Should the current situation change then we will advise the industry immediately.
With respect to training and caring practices, these can continue however all persons engaging in this activity must leave public training facilities as soon as their activity is finished.
All participants are remined to both socially distance and observe all Covid safety protocols.
Once again, thank you for your indulgence and understanding as we work through these most difficult times.
