BEWARE…the King is coming!

BEWARE…the King is coming!

Leaving his Cobbitty-base just moments ago, King Of Swing is being taken north for the final leg of the Grand Circuit.

The Craig Cross-trained stallion has made three appearances at the highest level this season for wins in the A G Hunter Cup and Miracle Mile and a second in the Victoria Cup.

As for his pending assignment, the son of Rocknroll Hanover has been primed to tackle Saturday night’s The Blacks A Fake at Albion Park.

“He only left at 10am,” Cross said. “Luke (McCarthy), who will drive him on the night, is taking him up by float.

“He has to be taken on his own as he is a bugger in the float.

“He knows he’s going somewhere and starts getting bull headed and wants to start fights with others in the float.”

Drawn barrier five in the 2680-metre feature, King Of Swing is a $1.50 favourite with TAB Fixed Odds.

High class three-year-old One Change is considered the main danger at $5.50 from the pole.

One Change has finished second and third during his last two starts against open class pacers.

According to Cross, however, there is no danger to King Of Swing.

“I can’t see him being beaten,” Cross said. “We all know anything can happen in racing, but barring something out of the ordinary, I can’t see King Of Swing losing.

“There are some in the race, including his stablemate Cruz from the draw, which will give some cheek, but King Of Swing should be too good.”
