Boom filly ready for racing return

BOOM youngster Arrhythmia will begin her quest for another major when she returns to racing this weekend.

The premier performer among her crop last season, Arrhythmia registered eight wins and a second from nine starts for earnings of $141,010.

Successful in the Vicbred Super Series and Breeders’ Crown Finals, the Emma Stewart-trained pacer was recently named Victoria’s 2025 Two-Year-Old of the Year.

Sent for a well-earned break following her Breeders’ Crown triumph in December, Arrhythmia will kick-start her campaign in Bendigo on Saturday night.

Stewart is using the 1650-metre event to “fine tune” the daughter of Vincent before sending her to Club Menangle for the New South Wales Oaks heats on ANZAC Day.

Should all go to plan, Arrhythmia will then contest the $200,000 Group One the following week.

“She did very well during her time off,” Stewart said. “It did her the world of good.

“We’re very happy with the way she has come up and expect a big run first-up.

“She had a solid trial a few weeks ago and her work since has been very sharp.”

To be partnered by Mark Pitt, Arrhythmia has drawn to lead throughout from the pole, with early markets listing the three-year-old as a $2 favourite.

Driving in terrific form, with six wins and a third from his last 10 outings, Pitt notched his 1100th victory in Echuca 10 days ago.

“She is pretty fit, but this run will help fine tune her before the Oaks heat,” Stewart said.
