Case of third time lucky?
CONNECTIONS of high class mare Bettor Enforce hope for a case of third time lucky at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night.
Since being trained in New South Wales by Craig Cross and now Belinda McCarthy, Bettor Enforce has made two Victorian trips to contest Group Ones.
On both occasions the daughter of Bettors Delight finished second – beaten a head.
Bettor Enforce’s close calls in top shelf events also include a second by a short half-head in the Ladyship Mile at Club Menangle last season!
As for her southern visits, Bettor Enforce was runner-up in the Queen Of The Pacific and the Ladyship Cup, which she will compete in during the weekend.
“From her last 21 starts she has 14 wins and six placings so she is doing a tremendous job,” part-owner Tony Peacock said.
“Three of those placings have been in Group Ones beaten a metre.
“She certainly deserves to add one to her record.”
To be driven by McCarthy’s husband, Luke, Bettor Enforce has drawn barrier six, but slots into five with the removal of the emergency.
TAB Fixed Odds have listed the eight-year-old as a $1.85 favourite, with Our Princess Tiffany considered her main danger at $2.20.
The pair are the only runners under double figures.
Prepared by prominent horseman Dean Braun, Our Princess Tiffany has drawn ideally in the pole.
“We’re happy enough with her draw,” Peacock said. “She’ll come out of five and go forward.
“Our Princess Tiffany is the one to beat…it’s likely she will lead and we’ll be doing it hard in the breeze.”
