Chasing berth in prestigious sprint

TRIPLE Group One winner No Win No Feed will take a step towards another top-shelf appearance when she heads to Club Menangle on Saturday night.

With connections setting their sights on the prestigious Ladyship Mile, No Win No Feed will contest the Sibelia Stakes.

The $50,000 feature offers a ‘golden ticket’ to the Ladyship Mile, which is scheduled to be run at the world-class venue on February 27.

“The Ladyship is what we’re aiming at with her,” part-owner Jaime Madruga said.

“Hopefully she will do well enough on the weekend to get straight into it.

“Otherwise there is the Robin Dundee next week as a back-up plan as that also acts as a gateway to the Ladyship.”

A handy fourth when returning from a freshen-up a fortnight ago, No Win No Feed has drawn to use her gate speed from barrier two.

One of two Belinda McCarthy-trained runners in the field, No Win No Feed will be driven by the horsewoman’s husband, Luke.

Leonard Cain will partner No Win No Feed’s stablemate Dracarys, which has drawn gate two.

“She [No Win No Feed] did well when coming back from a short break and will be fitter again,” Madruga said.

“I know Belinda is happy with her, and given Luke is driving her, that’s got to be a good sign.

“I can’t see any reason why she won’t find the front and once there she is always hard to run down.”
