CLASSY filly Dancing Finn faces a daunting task as she returns from a break on Saturday night.

First-up since May, the daughter of A Rocknroll Dance will compete in the last event at Globe Derby, which has assembled an impressive field of two-year-olds.

In fact, trainer Lance Holberton rates the line up as the strongest gathering of juveniles outside of features such as the Southern Cross Finals he can recall.

“It’s not going to be easy for her,” Holberton said. “Certainly not the kind of field you want to be against first-up from the break.

“There is plenty of talent and form in the race.

“It would have to be one of the strongest two-year-old fields you’d see this time of the year outside of the races such as the Southern Cross Finals.

“It’s only a field of seven but between them they have already won 16 races.”

Along with tough opposition, Dancing Finn’s assignment has been made all the more difficult by the draw.

To be driven by Ryan Hryhorec, Dancing Finn will begin from barrier seven – the outside of the front row.

Dancing Finn won her last five starts before being sent to a paddock.

“The draw hasn’t done her any favours either,” Holberton said. “She’s going to need luck, but I’m happy with the way she has come up and expect her to run a good race.”

Citing Artillery as the one to beat, Holberton also rates Soho Bob as one of the leading prospects.

Another returning from a spell, Artillery won two of his three starts before being sent for a break last May.

A brother to top pacer Culture King, Artillery will begin from gate four for trainer Paul Cavallaro.

Drawn barrier six, Soho Bob boasts three wins and a second from his last four starts.

“Artillery seems like the pick of the bunch, but he is also coming back from a spell,” Holberton said. “No doubt Paul has him ready to go.

“Soho Bob has been impressive and should go well again.”
