Debut winner ready to rock in Final

CONFIDENCE is high Jamaican Rock can continue the perfect start to his career when he returns to Globe Derby tonight.

Making a winning debut at the venue last weekend, Jamaican Rock is engaged in one of two $50,000 Sales Finals.

Pleased with Jamaican Rock’s progress, trainer Ryan Hryhorec predicts to the two-year-old “will improve on his first start”.

“He’s come along really quickly and I was rapt with him last week,” Hryhorec said. “That run has done him the world of good and he has been sharper at home because of it.

“I’ve got no doubt he will improve on his first start, but that’s pretty much going to be the case with the rest of the field too.

“No doubt they’re all going to be better for the experience.”

To be driven by Hryhorec, Jamaican Rock has drawn to search for the lead from barrier three.

The son of A Rocknroll Dance will be joined by his stablemate, Nicely Spoken, which will come from gate four with Shaun Adams holding the reins.

“Jamaican Rock will go forward from there,” Hryhorec said. “Nicely Spoken did well to finish third in his debut last week after racing in the ‘death’, but he’s not quite as forward as Jamaican Rock.

“If it wasn’t for this race Nicely Spoken wouldn’t be racing yet and he’ll go straight back to the paddock after tonight.”
