Domination continues

CHAMPION horsewoman Emma Stewart continued her stranglehold on the Vicbred Super Series in Melton last night.

Dominating the futurity like no other, Stewart completed a clean sweep of the four pacing Finals for the fourth time.

Achieving the feat for the first time in 2012, Stewart repeated the performance by securing the two and three-year-old Finals in 2018 and ’24.

It is the seventh occasion Stewart has won both two-year-old deciders and her fifth in the three-year-old division.

Overall, Stewart has won 19 of the 30 two-year-old Finals since 2012 and 17 of the three-year-old.

Then there is the four-year-old series, with Stewart winning both Finals in 2016, ’19, ’21, ’24 and ’25, with an over total of 12.

Winner of all six Finals in 2024, Stewart is on target to emulate the result based on last Thursday night’s four-year-old heats in Kilmore.

Five qualifiers were conducted, with Stewart’s squad proving too good on each occasion.

As for her latest haul, Stewart was triumphant with two-year-olds Some High and Kahula, while Enjoy Life and Bettor Beach were the standout three-year-olds.

“The Vicbred is a series we place a lot of emphasis on, which is only natural given our team consists mainly of horses bred in this state,” Stewart said. “We’ve been fortunate to have had a lot of success throughout the years.

“Last night was another terrific night for the team, and more importantly our owners.”
