Draw no problem for classy mare

CLASSY mare Bettor Enforce is expected to have little trouble continuing her winning ways despite a tough draw at Club Menangle tomorrow night.

Successful at the world class venue last weekend, Bettor Enforce boasts an impressive record around the 1400-metre circuit.

The Craig Cross-trained seven-year-old has won 10 of her 17 Menangle outings, with five placings also to her credit.

Four starts ago Bettor Enforce covered the mile in a slick 1:48.9.

“She is a very good mare which can lay claim to being the best in the country,” Cross said. “She’s done a tremendous job since she got here and still has plenty of wins in her.”

As for her pending assignment Bettor Enforce will begin from barrier nine – the outside of the front row.

With Luke McCarthy to take the reins Bettor Enforce is a $1.75 favourite.

Nostra Villa is considered the main danger at $4 from gate six.

“We knew she was going to draw there given the preferential conditions, so it’s not a major concern,” Cross said.

“As long as she gets a clear passage she will be hard to beat.

“She may even have a short break after this as we look at getting her ready for the Ladyship Mile in the New Year.”
