UNBEATEN freshman Ultimate Exclusive is expected to have little trouble becoming the latest feature winner in his family.
By Art Major, the two-year-old is from Saved A Corka, which boasts a perfect record from five starters.
The dam’s progeny include Aspiring Artist, Major Exclusive and Rap Artist – all Group winners.
Also a son of Art Major, Major Exclusive captured last season’s South Australia Derby for trainer Ted Caruana, who prepares Ultimate Exclusive.
“He’s done a good job for us,” Caruana said. “Three out of three so far and we’re very happy with him.
“My sons Blake and Lachlan along with Anthony Spiteri have been doing a lot of the work with him and deserve credit.
“How long he can remain unbeaten I don’t know, but he will be hard to beat on the weekend.”
“The weekend” is Saturday night, with Ultimate Exclusive engaged in the Premiere Stake.
Although the colt has drawn the second line, Caruana remains upbeat about the Australian Pacing Gold purchase’s prospects.
“The gate doesn’t faze me,” Caruana said. “He came from the back line when he won at Bendigo and did it easily.
“He’s working as good as ever and I expect him to be right in the finish.
“Whatever he does at Melton, he will go for a break before he gets going again for the APG and Vicbred which are the main aims with him.”
