Fundraiser to build training centre

MORE than 200 items are being auctioned to raise funds for a training centre on Friday night.

Brainchild of the Terang Harness Racing Owners’, Trainers’ and Supporters’ Group, the function is scheduled to be conducted in the club’s main dining room.

KEAYANG ZAHARA’S shoes will be offered during the auction

Starting at 7:30pm, the evening will include food, drinks, laughs and an all-important Good and Services Auction.

The organising crew is laser-focused on attracting as much cash, dosh, money, pesos as possible for the construction of the training centre to support young and upcoming participants of the next generation and beyond.

Two items destined to attract plenty of attention are associated with the all-time greatest pacer and trotter produced in the southern hemisphere – Leap To Fame and Keayang Zahara.

One is a framed set of shoes worn by Keayang Zahara during her Slot Race victory in New Zealand on April 10.

Destined to be a popular item, the shoes have been donated by the Lee family, who are also offering a photoshoot with Keayang Zahara and a specially-designed t-shirt featuring the 15-time Group One winning mare.

Leap To Fame’s connections have also supplied a pair of shoes worn by Australasia’s richest pacer in New Zealand last week, along with a Leap To Fame cap.

As for the remainder of the list, if the auction doesn’t have it, you don’t want it!

Thanks to so many generous people, items include accommodation, racetrack dining experiences, haircuts and products, electrical goods, toys, fishing gear, tools – even massages for both human and equine!

Naturally there is an abundance of horse supplies such feed from Hygain, round bales of hay, various supplements and a bundle of goods put together by Melton Saddlery.

For footy tragics – including anyone silly enough to support Essendon – there are jumpers signed by players from Brisbane, Carlton, Geelong and Sydney.
