JACKSON PAINTING
Interstate trip to be decided after Final

SATURDAY night’s Go Girlfriend Final at Club Menangle will double as a guide to the remainder of the season for promising youngster Seaside Boulevard.
A lightly-raced daughter of Downbytheseaside, the filly has the potential to earn more than just the lion’s share of the prizemoney, with trainer Jackson Painting considering an interstate trip.
Weighing-up the options of heading to Queensland for the several key targets, Jackson stated he will make a decision after this weekend’s $30,600 Listed Classic.
A recent addition to Jackson’s stable, Seaside Boulevard scored on debut before a solid second and a fourth in a Go Girlfriend Final heat last week.
“She’s goes quite nicely…I don’t mind her at all,” Jackson said. “She caught my eye last season, and when I got wind that one of her owners was looking to sell his share, I organised one of my owners to buy into her.
“I’m still figuring her out, such as already learning she is better with a sit, but I think she can go on to better races.
“I sat her up in her first race when she won easily, then led in the next two and found she didn’t go as well as she waited for them a bit.
“I will be aiming her at the Breeders’ Challenge later in the year, but if she can run a decent mile at Menangle, I’ll consider going to Queensland.
“At this stage I’ll wait to see what she does on Saturday night before making any solid plans with her.”
To be driven by Painting, Seaside Boulevard has drawn barrier five, with TAB Fixed Odds listing her at $9.
Winner of the heat in which Seaside Boulevard finished fourth, Snap Shot is a $2.10 favourite for astute horseman Brad Hewitt despite drawing wide in gate seven.
In an open betting affair, Princess Ballerina, Where Back and Bettine are at $6.50 from barriers one, two and three.
“Brad’s mare is the one to beat for sure,” Painting said. “She was really good at Wagga the other day.
“I drove to beat her out in front and made her run up the back, but she rounded up the field pretty easily.
“I’ll be driving mine with a sit as she is definitely better following the speed at the moment, and on the nice big track at Menangle, she should enjoy the tempo.”
