A SHORT break is on the cards for well-bred youngster Allstarzzz Frankie following his success at Club Menangle just moments ago.
According to trainer Steve Turnbull, the Australian Pacing Gold purchase is set to be given a “quiet winter” before being readied for another feature campaign.
“There isn’t a lot around for him at the moment,” Turnbull said.
“So he’ll have a few weeks off…a nice quiet winter before I get him going again.
“He’s got races such as the Breeders’ Challenge later in the year, so that’s the way I will head with him.”
As for his latest performance, Allstarzzz Frankie enjoyed the run of the race on his way to glory in the Tatlow Stakes.
Driven by Cameron Hart, Allstarzzz Frankie was settled in the coveted one-one as his stablemate and favourite, Saint Veran, worked hard outsider the leader, Mach Assassin.
Angled three-wide at the top of the homed straight, the gelding sprinted to a two-and-a-half metre win from a gallant Saint Veran, with Promising two metres away third.
“They have both been racing and working well so I expected them to be right in the finish,” Turnbull said.
“There is not a lot between them and it was a matter of which got the better run, which was Allstarzzz Frankie on this occasion.”
Covering the mile in 1:54.3, the son of Four Starzzz Shark took his record two wins and two thirds from six starts for earnings of $24,697.
