Milestone win for training partners

TRAINING partners Jill Neilson and Katie Wilson notched a milestone last weekend.

Working as a team since 2023, the duo registered their 100th victory thanks to Ruthless Offender’s success in Port Pirie on Saturday night.

Powderkeg provided the pair with their maiden success at Globe Derby Park on September 23, 2023.

“I had now idea about that,” Neilson said. “It’s your job to break the news, and on this occasion, you have.

“We work well together and Katie’s the backbone of everything that happens.

“To get a 100 wins together is something to be proud of.”

With Ryan Hryhorec in the cart, Ruthless Offender outstayed his rivals by working in the ‘death seat’ on his way to a four-and-a-half metre win from Tommy Mach.

Didmeselfamischief was a metre away third as the winner rated 1:57.2 over 1050 metres.

“That was a great run,” Neilson said. “Ryan and him gel for whatever reason so we use Ryan whenever we can.

“Katie’s mum owns the horse, so for it be our 100th win adds to the moment.”
