Minor sigh of relief as meetings continue

A MINOR sigh of relief has been released after  Tabcorp Park Melton’s ‘tier rating’ was downgraded.

After news spread this morning a participant who attended the Monday, August 2 meeting had tested positive to Covid-19 the venue became a potential a Tier-1 Covid-19 exposure site.

The Department of Health and Human Services advised Harness Racing Victoria of the situation last night.

As such everyone who was at the venue during the day is required to self isolate until a negative Covid-19 test has been returned.

This includes prominent names such as Zac Phillips, John Caldow, Chris Alford, Lance Justice and Jodi Quinlan, to name a few.

News has come through the track is now considered a Tier-2 site.

Tonight’s Melton meeting has been cancelled, with HRV declaring tomorrow’s race meetings at Charlton and Geelong would go ahead, as scheduled.

All other meetings, including Melton on Saturday night, will be in a ‘holding pattern’ until HRV provides updates.
