Modest plans despite impressive return
PLANS remain modest with Snuggles Banyula despite her impressive form since returning from a break.
Racing below expectations during her previous campaign the daughter of Always A Virgin was banished to a paddock by trainer David Hewitt.
Since resuming Snuggles Banyula has won her two starts to complete a clean sweep of the Club Menangle Country Series.
Capturing her heat in Bathurst when first-up for three months, Snuggles Banyula then proved too slick in last night’s Final at Club Menangle.
“I think she just got to the end of her tether last time in,” Hewitt said. “The break has done her the world of good as she has come back feeling a treat.
“Hopefully she can keep it going a little longer.
“I haven’t got any set plans for her as I hadn’t looked past this series.
“I’ll just find the right race and go from there.”
With Brad Hewitt holding the reins in the decider, Snuggles Banyula led throughout to cover the mile in 1:53.3 as Bangkok Bravado and Trunkey Tash filled the placings.
“In my opinion was she isn’t a leader but that was proven wrong last night,” Hewitt said.
“Hopefully she has added another string to her bow.”
