Perfect record at risk

A TOUGH draw has hindered Stylistik’s chances of maintaining his perfect record for his new stable.

Triumphant at his last start for Victorian trainer David Harris, Stylistik has won both outings for Mark Russo since moving to South Australia.

Scoring at Globe Derby on April 20 and 25, Stylistik is set to return to the same venue tomorrow night.

To Russo’s dismay, the son of Bettors Delight will begin from barrier 10 – the outside of the second row.

“It’s not a great draw and makes it a lot tougher for him,” Russo said. “He came from the back line the last time around, but Michael (Smith, driver) was able to settle him in the one-one.

“This is a tougher field as well, which really sets him a task.

“He prefers to be in front, but has won from behind, so hopefully the speed is on and he can come home hard.”

With no specific plans in mind for the four-year-old, Russo will continue to look for suitable races.

“At this stage there isn’t anything set out,” Russo said. “I’ll see how he handles tomorrow night’s race and go from there.”
