SHE has no official interest in the race, but Lee-Ann Pangrazio will be a keen onlooker during one of tomorrow night’s features at Globe Derby.

The source of Pangrazio’s focus will be the Golden Nursery Final, or to be more precise, a pair of the two-year-olds in the Alabar-sponsored field.

A renowned South Australian breeder, Pangrazio has the dam of Jamaican Rock and a half-sister to Rupert Ross.

Despite drawing the second row Jamaican Rock is a short-priced favourite for trainer Ryan Hryhorec.

The son of A Rocknroll Dance is undefeated from three starts, including an effortless heat victory last weekend.

A highly-touted freshman, Rupert Ross is regarded as one of the main dangers from barrier seven.

Although she gained ownership of the mares after the foals were born, Pangrazio will be cheering the progeny.

“It is pretty much fate that I got both mares,” Pangrazio said. “I bought Jamaican Rock’s dam after she was passed in at a sale and now I have her in foal.

“Before he passed away Mark Webster offered me Rupert Ross’ half-sister and she has a lovely Soho Tribeca foal.

“I’ll be cheering for both Jamaican Rock and Rupert Ross…maybe they will run the quinella, or better still, dead-heat for first.”
