TO THINK Ladies In Red is the best young pacer Emma Stewart has trained is scary.
During the past decade Stewart has produced stars such as Poster Boy, Our Little General, Guaranteed, Philadelphia Man, Shadow Sax, Whereibylong, The Storm Inside, Kualoa and Centenario just to name a few.
Even early tonight Stewart captured the Victoria Derby with Act Now!
But according to the record-breaking horsewoman Ladies In Red has them covered.
“She is unbelievable,” Stewart said. “We have never had one anything like her.
“What she can do is just amazing…she’s one out of the box.
“Our other fillies in the Oaks tonight went sensational, but she just showed once again she is a class above them.”
Given time to settle into her stride from her second row draw, Ladies In Red was then sent forward by David Moran to test the leader – her stablemate, Joanna – from the ‘death seat’.
Powering her way to the front at the top of the home straight, Ladies In Red completed a breathtaking six-metre win from Joanna.
Beach Music rounded out a Stewart trifecta when a metre-and-a-half away third.
Rating 1:56.5 over 2650 metres, the daughter of Mach Three took her record to an impeccable 13 wins and a second from 14 starts for earnings of $384,700.
“What another enormous run from her,” Stewart said. “The thing is, she makes it look easy.”
Expected to have a “few easy days” Ladies In Red will then be aimed at her Australasian Breeders’ Crown title defence next month.
The three-year-old will then seek redemption for her sole defeat in the Vicbred Super Series in December.
