THE TAB has selected exciting three-year-old The Lost Storm to represent its slot for the inaugural $2.1 million TAB Eureka at Club Menangle on September 2.

Tabcorp managing director and chief executive officer Adam Rytenskild said TAB was excited to be part of the The Lost Storm’s journey and to be the naming rights partner of harness racing’s biggest race.

“We’re thrilled to have secured The Lost Storm for our slot in the TAB Eureka,” said Rytenskild.

“He’s one of Australia’s most promising pacers with seven wins from nine starts, and his eye-catching last start win in the Vicbred Super Series final in December 2022 has shown he can certainly win the race.

“The TAB Eureka is Harness Racing Australia’s most exciting race, and we are proud to be the naming-rights sponsor of the event.

“The TAB will always back harness racing and its participants.”

Five of the 10 slots have already been taken in the TAB Eureka with Captain Ravishing, Catch A Wave, Leap To Fame and My Ultimate Ronnie already secured along with The Lost Storm.

The Lost Storm’s trainer Emma Stewart said the colt was primed for a big campaign in the lead into the TAB Eureka in early September

“He’s got that presence about him, he’s got great gate speed and he’s got a sharp turn of foot, so we think he’s the perfect runner to go up against the older horses in this race,” Stewart said.

“The stable is thrilled to have been selected by TAB for the inaugural running of the TAB Eureka.

“TAB are great supporters of harness racing, so we couldn’t think of teaming up with anyone better for this race,” she said.

“To have a race with this much prizemoney attached to it is exciting for our sport, and the exposure that The Lost Storm will have in the lead-up is a huge deal for our stable.”

The Lost Storm is set to begin his campaign on Saturday, July 8, at Albion Park in the highly-anticipated $350,000 Group 1 The Rising Sun, featuring some of Australasia’s premier three and four-year-old pacers.
